Zen Tea Black Vanilla

Camellia Sinensis blends, with flavoring are new to me. Never in my fifty plus years have I been a flavored tea drinker aside from chais, and even those I need to make myself, knowing exactly what I am putting into my tea. If I am going to drink a flavored tea I like to trust the source a lot, and I trust Zen Tea. This morning I was in the mood to continue to pretend it wasn't 100 degrees outside by 10am, that fall was upon us, as I ate a pumpkin muffin and closed the blinds so as not to see the blinding sun boring down upon me. I chose Zen's Vanilla Black to help this fantasy along and it didn't fail me. The tea package states the teas are from India, Ceylon and China and I don't know what to make of that, since my new tea experiences are always with a tea from one country, one province, one mountain, so this is a bit baffling to me and I am going to ask the owners more about this. My curiosity is piqued! The flavoring of vanilla pieces is very nice, very natural, the scent in the room is a pleasure, and I made a big mug of this with some vanilla almond milk. I've been brewing it in a 175m celadon pot and just steeping over and over the past hour, flash brews pretty much as I found it's too strong for me otherwise. Of course I DID use the entire 7 grams, that may be the culprit but this morning I was in the mood for full-bodied and dessert-like and that is what I got!

My experiences with Zen Tea has been so positive, their passion and energy for their products shines through. I loved their Vanilla Almond Rooibos sample and I quickly bought a lot of it to share with my non-caffeine friends, and I knew this sample of Zen's vanilla black would be of similar quality.
Now if only we can get Fall to really begin, I would drink this every morning and urge my family to join me!
